So, today I visited Louie's Bar & Grill and Akron, Ohio. I
was on a mission to find an amazing burger. So, unreadable of giving up
and going with a chain burger, I decided to ask around. A good friend
recommended this place that I decided to hit.
It ended up hitting
the spot....served its purpose. I'll start with the place itself. It's
a neighborhood bar & grill. Relaxing feel and friendly. Service was
kind, friendly and as quick as can be expected for made-to-order food.
It was clean. No troubles there.
THE FOOD: I started with Ruben bites. As good as they sound...if ya like rubens and comes with 1,000 island dressing.
THE
BURGERS: I had the chance to try not only one, but two burgers. The
first was the "Greek Burger". These are 1/2lbs. burgers...so I knew what
I was getting into. :-) the greek burger has a toasted bun, a boat load
of feta cheese , lettus and gyro (taziki) sauce. Now this style is not
something all will LOVE. BUT, if you like gyros and feta cheese....you
will absolutely fall in love with this burger. When I said it had a boat
load of feta in it.....I was not making things up. Lol! The massive
mouse if feta was close to an inch thick. I highly recommend this
burger. I actually ate half before finding the gyro sauce under the huge
mound of freshly cut fries. After adding that....OMG! *****
The
second burger I sampled...."the glenwood burger"....this was also 1/2lb.
burger. It was covered in a mound of fried camel onions and slathered
with "glenwood sauce". (I was told it was a mix of tartar and BBQ sauce.
Whatever it was, it tickled my tastebuds. Also *****
If your
looking for a great burger, this is the place. They also have a chillin
burger and many others....including chose your own adventure style
....add what ya want. They have solid choices for appetizers. Including
deep fried pickles, deep fried mac-n-cheese and much more. ..... and for
dessert....deep fried cheesecake.
So, if your looking for a good
burger......this is the place. If looking for a
healthy-keep-ya-off-the-treadmil-kinda meal.....not so much.
